review | soap & glory supercat eyeliner

Sunday 5 May 2013

Since I've been doing blogilates and eating a healthy diet, suddenly my eyelids have started matching. I used to have one monolid and one double eyelid making me look like I have a wonky face. Now, I can actually wear winged eyeliner and I manage to make myself look semi-decent. I bought the Soap & Glory Supercat eyeliner because I had heard such great things about it and I like the idea of easy application with a pen nib. Here are my thoughts...

The packaging itself is nice and sleek. The cardboard box in came in however is a bit of a waste. The pen is really dark and a true black shade and the nib itself is so easy to use and perfect for liquid eyeliner beginners. However, I found that i was extremely smudgy. I CANNOT rub my eyes, cry or even get slightly teary eyed because it will smudge and then disappear. I'm not quite sure if it's because my eyes are just naturally oily but when swatching the above picture, it did not budge when I tried to swipe it. So errrr, I'm not sure what is happening here.

I spend a long time perfecting that winged look and then it doesn't even last. This makes me angry, especially as it takes me 4 times longer to apply with a plaster cast on  -_-

As you can see, I came home from a hospital appointment with smudged lids. Have you ever had this problem before with this eyeliner or is it just me?

You can buy Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner from Boots and it is priced at £6.00

  1. Hi Vanessa (:
    Thanks for your review on this, it's very helpful!
    I've been contemplating buying this eyeliner since I need a new one and this seems super easy to use and gives a great line but I've read in quite a few reviews that it has this tendency to smudge D;
    Hope your arm is doing okay, I can imagine it's a total nightmare when it comes to makeup!

    1. Hi Farah!

      I was so looking forward to using this but I was so disappointed with its smudginess! I recently bought the Collection 2000 Felt Tip Liner (at half the price may I add) and I actually preferred that one. Little to no smudging and so easy to use! Highly recommend the Collection 2000 one :)

      Thanks! Not too long until the cast comes off! Counting down the days already!

    2. Well I DO love the Collection liquid eyeliner, so perhaps I will give the felt tip one a go as well! (:
      Such a shame though, I've swatched it a few times in store and it's looked great but for some reason, I've always held back from buying it. Gut instinct?! (:

    3. Your gut instinct is fantastically correct :) Save your pennies and try the Collection 2000 one, you can spend the difference on a nice nail polish too :P

  2. I bought this eyeliner some time ago and I have the exact same thoughts as you: it smudges so easily. I think I'm going to try the Pixi liner next. :) xx

    1. I couldn't believe it when I swatched it on the back of my hand that it didn't move an inch! No idea how that is happening!

      Oooh, I was gonna get the Pixi liner. Heard so many great things about it :)
