review: clarins instant light complexion perfector

Friday, 8 March 2013

I've always held Clarins in high regard. Their skincare is really good so I thought I would branch out and dabble in their makeup range. With my skin feeling a lot fresher and lighter, I'm going for a fresher makeup look with minimal products that give me a glowy finish.

The Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector

'...smooths and evens skin tone for a more luminous glow and fresh, radiant, healthy-looking complexion. This lightweight texture glides on effortlessly, illuminating the complexion and promoting a long-wearing natural finish. Can be used alone, under or mixed in with your usual foundation'.

I've been using this before putting on my foundation and I must say, it's pretty good. It doesn't have too much shimmer in it so it doesn't look like you've dipped your face in sparkles. It just gives off a gentle glow and luminosity that I love, especially for emulating the flawless korean makeup look. The application of it is very impressive as well. It glides on very smoothly and a little goes a long way in this case.

The one gripe I have with this is the packaging and in particular that pump. I know it's a bit pernickety but when I push the pump, it feels like I don't have enough control in how much product comes out because it doesn't push down that far. A minor issue but it's more of a preference thing.

I haven't tried using this on its own yet but I will probably will when I get towards my lazy days! You can buy this online or at a Clarins counter for £26.00. A little pricey but well worth the splurdge if you're looking to add something special to your makeup routine.
