I've been a little out of blogging lately mainly due to life and family things but I'm slowly easing myself back into it. The end of my favourite month is upon us. Farewell February, you have been super awesome!

The end of February means it is time for another monthly resolution. If you're unfamiliar with this series then this post should really explain it all. This month I will be learning Mandarin. Thus is shall be named 'Mandarin March'. I've always wanted to learn mandarin and when fellow Chinese people approach me and yabber on in Mandarin, all I can do is shake my head and say 'no' (believe me, it's happened to me a few times!).

As a Cantonese speaker, I find myself picking up Asian languages a lot easier than European languages. Something about the way my tongue rolls, it just doesn't like it. My friend who studied for a little while in China will help me along the process by messaging and speaking to me in Mandarin. I'm not attempting to becoming fluent at all but I would like to learn the basics so I'm able to converse a little.

Bring on the challenge!

  1. Good luck with learning mandarin! Are you learning to write or just speak? I tried mandarin but I found that I got very confused with the symbols when it came to writing haha!

    1. I might just learn to speak first and then if I take to it like duck to water, I might learn to write it too but I can't even write Cantonese so it'll be a new challenge in itself!

  2. That's so awesome, sending so much luck your way :D It's always fun learning a new language, I don't have the patience for it, but really wish I did. And btw, those little panda cookies are SO CUTE :O xx

  3. Hope March is a wonderful month for you, and more wonderful months to come! Good luck in your languages! I've been trying to re-fluent myself in Korean, since I moved around I lost it, I would love to speak to my Mom and everyone else perfectly. xx
